A year or so ago, I had the notion that it would be amazing to create a transformational personal and professional growth program to serve the highest performing non-executives inside great companies and organizations.
I’d just read the books Powerful and No Rules Rules, so I was obsessed with this idea of “keepers.” As defined at Netflix, a “keeper” is a 10x performer who you as a leader would fight hard to save if they said they were making a move.
I realized that I’d spent much of my life placing my attention on people just like this.
When I meet someone like this, I do everything I can to find a way to be a part of their life, as a friend, a team member, or just a close-in admirer. And, I felt certain that these people were being left out of really meaningful, game-changing programming to support their growth.
I didn’t and don’t believe traditional “manager training” does the trick, and I found many of these people were being promoted to early manager or leadership roles without a great deal of guidance on how to (a) be a great manager and leader and (b) use that new role as a stepping stone to whatever business or personal dream they held close. There is no executive coaching for this group. There is no YPO for these superstars.
So I thought about creating the “Superkeepers Cohort”. It would have three main components: (1) training led by great coaches, (2) a cohort of other “super keeper” peers, and (3) a longstanding—perhaps lifetime—network for participants.
And I shared that idea with Kaley Klemp. She loved it. We started thinking about marketing it. But between us, with everything going on, we didn’t have the energy or focus to make it a reality. When Kaley and I really want to do something phenomenal, it happens. This was a sign.
So we swept Superkeepers under the rug. We continued our repeat sell-out focus on our Certification for Leader Coaches program and co-authoring a new book, Leader Coach, which will be available late summer 2024.
But deep down, I continued to want this program to exist. It needed to exist! And, much to my surprise and delight, there were three other people on our roster of colleagues at Inductive who started to get really excited about this idea.
And you know what? They are the perfect people to bring this idea to market because, of course, they are superkeepers themselves. And they really “get” this audience perfectly because they know it from the inside.
So, when Devon Tivona, Juhi Kabra, and Kim Wagner asked if they could take the idea, rebrand it into something far better, and launch it on the Inductive platform, we had a full-body YES.
Cue the 2024 inaugural Inductive Fellowship forum. The Inductive Fellowship is a two-day gathering (Oct 9 & 10, 2024) of high-performing young leaders learning to apply the same leadership tools used by executives of the world’s most successful organizations.
Participating as a founding Inductive Fellow will be an unforgettable experience for anyone lucky enough to be a part of it, and this group will be starting something important.
If you want to learn more about nominating one or more of your high potential / high performers to be an Inductive Fellow, with programming launching this October, learn more here or send an email to fellowship@inductive.work.
