Working with Sue is an experience; she is at once my teacher, partner, confidant, friend, investor, and more. Beyond my co-founders, there are few others with whom I can be 100% vulnerable about myself and my company, and Sue is one of them. She has not only been valuable, but foundational to our success thus far, because we can dive deep and unadulterated into our challenges the instant we sit down together. This transparent relationship is rare and a true treasure, as it requires massive trust and buy-in from both sides. Sue is our greatest, secret, unfair competitive advantage.
To say that working with Sue is anything short of life-changing would be inaccurate. She is incredibly insightful, and a genius at quickly cutting through the muck to see the real issues. She will push your to the edge of comfort and authenticity until you break through to the other side, all the while engaging you with genuine warmth and joy. In the four years since I've known and worked with Sue, I have radically transformed in ways I didn't even think were possible. I can't recommend her enough!
Working with Sue has been an INCREDIBLE force in my life. She helped me do the tough work of facing my 'imposter voice' and see what happens when I step into my own power as a confident, heart-led, authentic leader. I love Sue most for her ability to take on a challenger role from a place of love, and always feel that she truly is ‘in my corner’ when I need it most. I’ll never forget her advice: 20 years from now, you’re not going to remember the day-to-day details or stressors of your job, but you WILL remember HOW you behaved. I never forget these words in the hardest of moments in my work, and truly believe it has helped me be the high-integrity leader I strive to be.
I’m not sure where Dharma Comics would be without Sue. Through her profound ability to see the reality of the present and vision for the future, she has helped develop my project from a hobby to a life’s passion, from a blog to a business.
Sue beams authenticity, energy and confidence; she does not hesitate to call bullshit; and every second you spend with her as a client feels bent on making you a better version of you.
Sue's Challenger style and direct approach let us cut through the "fluff" and get to the core of issues with fluidity and prowess. She is both an expert leadership coach and a master of organizational dynamics having previously served in executive leadership roles, which means she innately gets it.
Sue is exactly the person you want in your corner: whip-smart and able to see issues with clarity and conciseness, Sue also brings a wealth of experience and warmth as she helps navigate situations at hand while believing, challenging, and encouraging you into the next phases of professional and personal growth.
Sue helped me to find the confidence within myself to step off of the treadmill, find that second path, and truly lead. Sue challenged me to do that deep work and held me accountable. She is direct, brutally honest, but also compassionate and caring. If you want a coach who can help you become the best version of yourself, meet with Sue.
Sue was our G2 company coach and my conscious leadership coach. She's helped me really grow my self awareness, feeling of calm aliveness, and the level of connection, talent and alignment in our G2 leadership team.
Sue is that coach in your life that is extremely dynamic and inspirational. One you remember for a long long time.
Sue is great and has been a game-changer for me. She helped me scale as a leader.
Facilitation & Consulting
Sue gave us a master class on Mission, Vision, and Values, and I so appreciate the results.
I want to offer, very truthfully, that our time with Sue was the most poignant, gritty, no frills, productive, and purposeful facilitation I have ever experienced. Sue is a force.
I am especially impressed with Sue’s knowledge and application of Conscious Leadership principles. I have practiced Conscious Leadership for over 15 years and I have worked with some of the best experts. I count Sue as one of those experts and greatly appreciate her directness, authenticity and inspiration in her work.
Sue has the gift to immediately see the big picture and how it connects with an audience. More than an idea person, Sue has the ability to create a vision and bring it to life.
Sue had an uncanny ability to zero in on the key issues that faced our team and helped us work through them. She did so in a very caring, compassionate, and unbiased way that left all of us feeling great and energized.
Sue is one of those rare people who meet that not only has an outstanding creative mind but also can implement the vision without flaw.
Meeting with Sue is like mainlining adrenaline. She has infectious energy. I always leave with that "I'm about to conquer the fucking world" feeling. That's one hell of a feeling. There are very few people I've met who can bring that energy out in people consistently. Sue is the best.
Sue raises the conversation by 9'10" in a 10'-high space.
Sue is a genius at working with startups and founding teams. The best I've seen. Her insights are rapid and spot-on, her feedback invaluable, and her love of entrepreneurs comes through in everything she does.
It's easier to polish the surface than excavate the messy, rotten roots. But that work is so important because the rot is what kills. Sue is the best I've see at noticing the mess, inviting it, and sitting with it. There were so many opportunities for Sue to pivot into a safer space but she stayed focused on the Big Truth.
As we grew rapidly as a company, operationalizing the principles of consciousness was a priority. Having Sue be the first deep conscious point of contact for leaders and key individual contributors was invaluable to our success as we scaled. Her firm and loving facilitation style sent the signal that consciousness is more than a way of doing; it is a transformational way of being. She challenged our people to get uncomfortable and provided an excellent foundation for us to continue weaving consciousness into all that we do at Uptake.
The diverse leadership team of our growing nonprofit came together with Sue to explore opportunities to work more seamlessly together to achieve our mission. Sue demonstrated her remarkable ability to hone in on the key motivation and drivers for each individual. Sue not only led us through personal exploration; her skilled facilitation led to several profound ah-ha moments for our team as a unit. In just a few hours, Sue offered a foundational understanding for how we can better complement and support each other. Our time with Sue will result in more productivity and impact for our work as individuals and as an organization.
Sue is masterful at the practice of authentic communication. For her it is not a nice theory but rather a way of life that has made her a transformational leader and a world class coach. She knows from practice practical ways to create candor in a culture. She walks the talk.
One thing I really appreciated about Sue's facilitation is her keen ability to pick up on something that was said in passing and to encourage us to explore it more. In two instances in our offsite, those instincts to follow off-agenda paths opened up powerful conversations and provided meaningful insights.
Speaking
Sue is damned funny and refreshingly authentic. In today's evolving business landscape, it's great to hear from somebody with experience who can also bring an out-of-the-box view of the future.
Sue has a technique that transcends the word "interview" and is what I would call an "inner-view" of the person that she is talking to. It is an interweaving of the conversation that is so based in presence, and curiosity, and acknowledgement of what is unfolding for the other individual. The result is so engaging for the audience and so incredibly meaningful for the person being interviewed.
Sue is a transformational speaker. She exemplifies conscious leadership and challenges her audiences to harness vulnerability in a powerful way. Her interactive presentation style and endearing zest are captivating, inspiring and absolutely magical. I could not be more pleased with her work and her spirit.
Speaker Coaching
The event and presentations were remarkable! Thank you again for your help.
I interviewed many consultants before I found Sue and I instantly knew she was the one. Sue is one of the most intelligent, insightful, energetic, and fun consultants I've ever worked with. It is almost 100% thanks to her work and guidance that my TedX presentation came out so incredibly well. If you're looking for someone to help you - look no further. There is truly no one like Sue and I would recommend her to absolutely everyone.
Sue is one of the most insightful people I've ever met. Within minutes, she was able to see through all of our BS and help us refine our keynote into something we will be proud of forever. Sue guided us to find our true, authentic voices, and a speech that was a 7 or 8 transformed into a perfect 10. We can't wait to work with Sue again.
Leadership Camps
My co-founder and I attended Camp together, and after seeing the impact, we sent the majority of our team. Today in our all-hands meeting, our lead developer said "Out biggest win last week was the Conscious Leadership workshop."
Your process --and your loving way of helping people see what is obvious but not seen-- have enabled us to transform long-standing differences, to see them as differences and also as possibilities. Camp was a tremendous gift, and we are very grateful.
This is REAL leadership exploration; none of that fluff that is typical of other leadership sessions.
Since the conscious leadership program the curriculum has become part of my daily cadence. Each morning I look through my agenda for the day and contemplate what aspects of the work I can bring to each interaction that I have to make it deeper, more affective, and transformational. The workshop was impactful at the moment, but continues to ripple forward with a greater and greater effect.
Most of our team has gone to Camp, and I can see the impact on our business every day. Exploring how we work together has allowed us to grow faster as a company while also creating stronger and more authentic relationships on the team. Leadership Camp has made me a more open and authentic leader, and I'd encourage anyone to experience the shift for themselves!
Before Camp, I thought I was going to leave my job. Now I'm more engaged than ever.
Forums
Working with Sue and forum integrated my professional and personal lives. This transformation has proved to be so far lasting and beneficial. Sue is exceptionally skilled, honest, smart, and above all benevolent in driving you to achieve what you're looking for.
Vulnerable, challenging, and transformative.
At Leadership Camp, I was introduced to a set of assumptions and narratives that were driving my actions and reactions every day. Digging in with Sue and other committed individuals in the Forum, I really had the chance to understand, play with, and disarm aspects of my constructed personality that were not serving me well. Leadership Camp showed me what was possible; the Conscious Leadership Forum showed me what it takes to turn that possibility into a new reality of emotional authenticity and candor.
360 Reviews
Sue's straight-talking, incisive approach was instrumental in helping our executive team digest their 360-review feedback. Her incredible ability to help people focus and see themselves (and how they are perceived by others) with greater clarity helped unlock the value of the entire exercise.
Families
Thank you for your work, pushing the questions, holding space, and getting us over the edge. I feel much lighter and stronger. And I thank you for that.
Sue Heilbronner has worked with our family on a few occasions. We've been impressed with the sensitive yet no-nonsense way she approaches complex issues. She's keenly perceptive of the group dynamic and unafraid to ask challenging questions--moving forward with care, curiosity, and openness. Sue ensures that each of us is showing up with integrity and that our personal narrative doesn't interfere with the necessary collaboration.
