Recently I wrote a poem called “When You Call Me Brave.” I paired it with a Conscious Leadership exercise on listening and feedback and then posted both on my blog at HeySue.com.
A few days after I posted this poem, I received a note from my friend Evan Walden. He shared a mirror poem called “When You Call Me Empathetic.” His work was beautiful. And the notion that he’d written this and shared it with me rang a bell of connection that is rare, even when you put as much out in the world as I do. It feels incredible to be seen, heard, and reflected in this way.
We decided to make a mash-up video about our two most loved and detested forms of feedback. We hope you like it.
